Fill up a bucket with water, or use a hose to flush the gutters out.
Avoid any incompatible metals – copper pipes (or water from them) and lead flashing should never come in direct contact with metal roofing. Galvanic corrosion occurs when two different metals contact and either oxidise or corrode, being vigilant about other metals at the beginning is an important way to care for your metal roof.
